Cesare Paciotti - I remember you!
I first noticed them back in university when my flatmate retrieved an absolutely DECADENT looking bag by CP from her closet (2005 collection I believe). Definitely need to get familiar again, got distracted by the hoo-has of Louboutins and that Brian Atwood, love them to bits, but Cesare Paciotti truly showcases his consistency in his collections.

University of San Diego - Emitte Spiritum Tuum
USD is the place where I cultivated an intense love for South American music, Mexican food, ethnically ambiguous friends, Afghan cuisine, Mexican beer, UNAFRAID stand-up comedians, BFFs, orange chicken, Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, Ocean Beach, La Jolla, horchata, The Family Guy, Robot Chicken, flip-flops, SUNSHINE with a side of breeze, Balboa Park, Anchorman, scandal, downtown, San Diego Restaurant Week, SUVs, chill sessions, kick-back sessoins, after-school sessions, before-school sessions, let's-not-go-to-class sessions, HEARTY LAUGHTER, house parties, beer pong, In-N-Out, Blockbuster, the REAL Krispy Kreme, fast food, organic food, Costco, Longs, coyotes and raccoons.
Skills I've learnt from my time there are rumour damage control, dating, being single, COOKING, picking up after myself and others and allowing others to do the same for me, SHARING, driving, creating a buzz, secretly learning Spanish whenever the guys are commenting on la minas rica or ordering a taco con salsa verde gracias, playing hostess, forgiving but not forgetting, LAUGHING HEARTILY, negotiating, moving on, salsa dancing, wine appreciation, boring people appreciation, spinning the subject matter for the purpose of writing a paper or comforting a friend, spying, adaptation, curiosity, how to lose a guy in ten days and not lose myself, being responsible, enjoying irresponsibility, how to spot a gold digger, how to spot a rich man, hair curling, rule of thirds.
Things I love and things I've learnt, ultimately, weld into this massive jungle gym that has since shaped my spirit and the way I constantly seek myself out.
USD's school motto is Emitte Spiritum Tuum - Send Forth Thy Spirit. I take ownership of my spirit and I will send it to the moon and back if I want.

Free flowing wine every Mon @ The Press Room
Highly applaud the Press Room Burger (available lunch times and Mon nights in the form of a Wagyu variation). Onion Soup is so laden with cheese, it really deserves your money! When I get unsatisfying soup servings (i.e. too runny, too bland, too much salt, too goopy…) at restaurants, I want to personally confront the chef, true story. Quite unlikely, you'd say, after that rant, but the Caesar with anchovies is quite pleasant. They really understood that a salad needs to build upon the crisp taste of the veggie, the smoky taste of cheese, creaminess of the dressing to gel everything together and the zesty kick of anchovies. A restaurant should really nail their appetizers and I've tried most which are delightful; this is so terrible of me, but a DISAPPOINTING dish is the unimpressive, nothing to write home about Steak Tartare. I cannot elaborate further on the Steak Tartare because it's just boring.
More on the boo-boos. Service sometimes get tardy. Food portions could use some supersizing and they forget to sweep the crumbs off the leather seats.

Cinematic trend - inexperienced (impoverished?) child actors
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/8178472.stm
I really enjoy the clarity and unadulterated ecstasy in fresh actors' expressions and delivery. It is, however, peculiar to see children/teenagers plucked from their everyday life to play himself/herself or someone alike, entrapped in similar living conditions.
While at the movies, I want to see the honed craft speaking to me on screen. Are child actors and actresses so scarce? Magnify the thought process of the producer(s)/director(s) and it could very well be : I'm making a movie about the banking world, scrap Al Pacino, let's just get the MD from this investment bank to "play as himself" ; or : This movie about socialites needs to be in production pronto, I'll just put Tinsley Mortimer in first to anchor the movie, and maybe she will bring in a few of her friends to "play as themselves".
What does this all mean? I don't know, but not very certain if this is the right thing to do?
Check out these films that have child actors/actresses with no prior training (in my hazy memory).

Slumdog Millionaire (2008, UK)
Mongolian Ping Pong (2005, Mongolia/China)
PS - these films are all kind of indie, and invariably accoladed at festivals
